Originally designed as a “Mothering” Day series, these small prints are hand printed using hard-carved soft linoleum blocks. They were created at a time where a lot of people around me had conflicting feelings about Mother’s Day: people who had lost mothers, women who wanted to be mothers but couldn’t, friends with estranged parents or strenuous relationships… So I created these small prints with all of them in mind, in an attempt to capture what parental figures do for us (whether they be our mothers, fathers, mentors or friends) in a way that was both heartfelt and inclusive.
